It’s called OutRun, the brain-child of one Garnet Hertz. Although it’s an obvious example of mixed reality, rather than augmented reality, I believe it still falls under the jurisdiction of this blog

Garnet demo’d it at NEXTAarhus 2 months ago, and wasn’t enthusiastic about us taking it out for a spin. I consider it mobile art that involves overlays. Also, its accelleration and cornering just aren’t competitive in races longer that 1 or 2 km.
